Trainingand Experience
Kovacs & Norell provides a unique practical experience and hands on training that develops the vital skills and judgment to become a successful litigator. All lawyers have independent conduct of a full caseload of files and conduct their own examinations for discovery, applications, mediations and trials. Mentorship is provided through assisting senior counsel on larger more complex files and through informal daily meetings with senior legal counsel that provide insight, guidance and assistance as needed.
We offer access to online resources and webinars to assist you with your CPD requirements with the Law Society of BC.
Firm Culture
There is no doubt, successful lawyers work hard especially in their early years as they develop their skills and judgment. We are no different but we truly value a work-life balance. Whatever your interests or passions may be, we encourage all of our lawyers to take time to slow down and enjoy life when opportunities arise.
We have a strong commitment to our respective communities. Our lawyers provide pro bono legal advice and give their time to a variety of different causes whether it is sitting on a board of directors of a charitable organization or picking up garbage in a neighbourhood park. We feel fortunate in our lives and want to help others where we can.
Around the office, the atmosphere is casual and social. Office doors are typically kept open, acting as an invitation to drop by and talk about a file or current affairs. We host quarterly lawyers’ dinners, which are well-attended and are the highlights of the firm’s social calendar.
